Surprises & Disappointments

Wellll, lately i've been playing God of War II, in the usual fashion where i play the game before a game that's just been released, in this case God of War III. And WOW 0_0 GOW2 (not Gears 2 obviously) is FANTASTIC. GOW1 was a pretty good game, didn't finish it unfortunately. GOW2 blew me away. A perfect blend of over the top action and gore, puzzle and epic storytelling. Visuals as well were quite nice. In the end, i played it non-stop until the final showdown, and by the time i'd fought my way down the stairs towards Clotho, ripping apart every enemy in the game 1 by 1, i felt SO epic.

Unfortunately, not all in my gaming experience was totally awesome. I refer to Metro 2033 here. A game which i was actually quite excited cause with the whole '28 Days Later' style trailer with 'In The House, In A Heartbeat' music, i thought it was going to be some epic futuristic shooter with horror elements, y'know F.E.A.R stlye. Instead, it was this rather oddly paced Russian themed game in subways, fighting monsters and surviving yes, but with very inefficient weapons. The beginning was quite good, and when you went outside on your own all the while watching your masks filter levels was tense and cool. The game has a very F.E.A.R, Fallout and Half Life style to it, which is nice, but i just didn't expect that. Even though i'm open to so many games and other stuff, this just didn't do it for me, and the stealthy kills and conserving/ switching ammo just got tedious. So really, i'm going to give it up.

On another note, i really need to play Half Life 2: Episode 3...

Got Myself A Gun & Progress

My G36C!!!!!!!!!!! It CAME. YAYYYYY. I'm SO Happy. I ordered it Monday at 7am, and it came on Tuesday somewhere before 9am. Wow. And i got more bang for my buck as well! It came with a sling, a holographic cross scope, and red dot sight. An ACTUAL red dot laser pointer. It's fantastic. Of course, I've uploaded pics of my Ghost cosplay with the G36C to Facebook, as well as DA. So i'm all set => Interestingly enough, i've gotten into BB shooting since i got a few with the M9 that I bought. The gun is POWERFUL. It's only a single shot spring, but man does it pack a punch. Whatever i shoot it at, including plastic bags and even my Urahara hat, it bounces/ ricochets right off!! Sometimes flying across the room. haha. It's kinda fun taking it apart, putting it away, and later putting it back together and admiring it. Ah, satisfaction.

In other news, i've been putting some time into stuff i thought I might not. After the horror of completing all campaigns on Left 4 Dead 2, being forced to play it on Normal due to the final house part of 'The Swamp' campaign, i felt that i need something else. From challenging to challenging, i decided to do MW2's Spec Ops again, and with the help of friends managed to complete O Cristo Redentor, Time Trial, Snatch and Grab and even Armor Piercing on Veteran. I also did all the other missions for 1 star, and shockingly did Homeland Security on Hardened. WHAT A FEAT 0_0 I cannot IMAGINE that on Veteran, but like Wardriving (grrrr) i'll have to do it eventually. Heh. But fun fun no less. And after a decently long cutscene in Star Ocean, i felt more motivated to actually not avoid fights and keep on playing till the end. I need to complete that game, haha. Everyone's playin FFXIII while I still haven't done ODST on Legendary. Hah. Guess that's just the way it is.

Exam Result & Total Result

What a week... Well, i kept thinkin to myself that Thursday would be a good day. We got the results of our January exams, and all I did was Sociology. Quite worried for the exam initially, but felt pretty good afterwards. Although, on Wednesday i wasn't worried at all. Many signs kind of told me that everything would be ok:

I had a dream of big success
I actually managed to pet the neighbor's cat!!! It was outside, saw me, i beckoned to me, and it actually let me pet it. By the way, it's a BLACK CAT.
Now along the way, i still had this one song stuck in my head (my 'currently listening to') and it really lifted my spirits. And BEHOLD, my result: A, 80/80 100%!!!! Just as expected *Evil laugh, as if i'm Light from Death Note*

Also, i got a hug from someone i've been SERIOUSLY wanting to hug for AGES. That day couldn't have got ANY better. I know that sounds silly, but WHATEVER.

Anywayzzzz, i've been playing Rainbow Six Vegas, DMC4, and DOA4 again. Sparing the details of DOA4, i managed to get new achievements for DMC4!!! All Secret Missions complete, 'Modus Vivendi' get Max health, and 'Speak of The Devil' complete campaign with Super Nero and Dante. FUN TIMES. And now i'm headin for Legendary Devil Hunter: defeat 10,000 enemies. Wow, i've got a lot of work to do. Not just games really, gotta buck up on school work as well.

Well, heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeere WE GO

Main Melancholies & Turning 70 2

*sigh* What a look and diverse week. Fun, crazy, random, SAD, TOUGH, but then it all comes full circle. I have to admit, this was one of those weeks where i felt positively DEFEATED by the things I had to deal with. Highlights were of course getting my bigger headset and getting most of my Ghost cosplay done. But obviously there's a certain G36C missing in the picture T_T But i'm confident that i can get it in time for the Expo =) Other than that, it was a week of mixed emotions, certainly.

Onto to the next, on on to the next one. Haha. Well, I called the second bit 'Turning 70 - 2' because it's kind of part 2 of how it felt to turn level 70 in MW2. Granted i've Prestige'd now, and i'm using the Famas at the moment. But i refer more to Halo 3, Tekken and even a few demos I've been playing lately. Perhaps it was the dedication, time, effort, enjoyment and development i gained from all those levels i went up in MW2. It's made me even quicker to, as i say, 'draw for the tool' in terms of 360 games. I've even gotten better at racing games, such as Need For Speed and MotoGP. I feel like i understand the controls better and maybe even understand things about proper driving itself. The biggest difference is in Halo 3 where I've been leveling up quite well in each playlist and Team Swat is actually FUN for me now. Big surprise, haha. Well, gotta balance school work and play obviously. But as a gamer and a student, i think i'm doing pretty well as it is.

New week, gonna try my best. Oscar Mike

Even Mo' BAM Fest & Inside The Web

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. The BAM Festival is still swinging. This week, it was the Girl Who Leapt Through Time and The Sky Crawlers. The first film, which was on Monday was pretty good. It was interestingly done, although strange and random, but lovable nonetheless. The ending divided the crowd however. I really appreciated the ending, but most thought it was silly. Tch, as if a romantic cheesy ending would have been MUCH better ¬_¬ Either way. Random and weird, yet good movie. Sky Crawlers was as I predicted, and as Paul described. Slow, strange, mature, but engaging in a mellow kind of way with epic CGI plane scenes. Since it was directed by Mamoru Oshii with Production IG, i could tell what was coming. And the girl in it DID look alot like the child version of Motoko Kusanagi. Though i love Motoko, this girl was just CREEPY. Either way, two good films. Tomorrow, i'll be seeing the finale; Summer Wars. Hoping for a big turnout and lots of fun =)

Yesterday, I went to a friend's house, which was pretty cool. Through talking to her friend about random stuff, then personal stuff, and then some NEXT stuff, every piece began to fall into place. Now i understand everything about the big 'web of intrigue' surrounding the many new friends I have. Some things were expected, others were surprising. But now, i can gladly say that my case is closed on the matter, and it has been a rather interesting ride along the way. Though the whole deal makes me feel a bit alienated and alone. Maybe it's better that way... Oh well.

Lookin forward to a good week =>

Mo' BAM Fest & Code Geass

WOW. What a half term and 1/2. SO much done, and so much left not done, haha. So basically:

Monday- went to David Llyod Leisure Centre with Matt, did lots of exercise, LOTS, and chilled out with some pizzas and videos at his place after. Then, went to Erith to oversee Sonia's art workshop. Was pretty cool, and got to ask her about her favourite guns. Heh. Cool to meet someone into guns like that; a proper fanatic.

Tuesday- Slept ALOT, then did the usual bizzle.

Wednesday- Swung by Josh's house and played some 360. I ended up having the same reaction when i faced The Alchemist in Prince of Persia: 'STOP GETTING YOUR HEALTH BACK!!!!' Fun =) Then met Marisa and went to the, surprisingly close, Crayford Manor House for the Cooking workshop. Although somewhat short and simple, everyone enjoyed it. Now i have a good ol' Mickey Mouse bento T_T Hehe

Thursday- BIIIIIIIIG day. Headed to Central, and along the way about 12 cops were holding down this one black guy, what a sight. And more were coming as well!! Anywayz, helped co-ordinate the first workshop with Emma. Talked with Dan a bit, then headed to Welling for the second event, which was good as well. Then roamed around Bexleyheath until the film. MAN ALIVE. For a very short film, The Cat Returns nearly had me in tears. I was SO touched!! It was so fun and lovable, as well as cool and action-packed.

Friday- Lazin about, played ODST again. Grrrr ¬_¬ CANNOT get past Kilingo Boulevard on Legendary on my own. Stayed alive for like 20 MINUTES only to be killed by the stupid Wraith ¬___________¬ Gave up, then played Halo 3 with Abi and Josh. Which was actually really fun. I've gotten so much better now, cause i'm focusing on how to gun someone down Halo style. I even got to rank 7 =>

Saturday- Ghost balaclava came!!! Threw some crap together, luckily bought a Mini Uzi and Knife (toys obviously) and seriously helped out at the Cosplay Workshop. People said i looked scary, ahah. Had so many pictures taken by newspaper people and did a video interview with the guy recording the event. So happy =) Felt a bit sad when it ended though. Ended so early that everyone left and i felt left behind really. Oh well.

Saturday night consisted of the second thing, which is Code Geass. By 6:30am, i managed to finsh the second season. Pretty freaking good anime ]=> Really engaging, funny, and action up the hootanany. Not the greatest story ever told, but a delivey so nice that I couldn't help but keep going back for more. And it's by Sunrise!! The studio that made S-Cry-ed and Gundam Seed. Although you can tell Code Geass is by CLAMP by the designs of the characters, though the style has a Sunrise touch to it. The show was a bit like Death Note, liken to Gundam Seed, by way of Raphael from Soul Calibur's ambitions, with a S-Cry-ed style premise, with a Gurren Lagann style sub-plot. Haha. I know, VERY long winded. Anywayz, I'm glad Odin recommended it to me. I had alot of fun with it =)

So, back to school. But ah, morning study leave ;)

What Made My Day

Watchin Buso Renkin has been good, definitely. But this video will keep me entertained for years:
